Post Procedure

When the procedure is complete, we provide you with written aftercare information and any necessary ointment.

  • Initially there will be minor discomfort, similar to a sunburn, to the procedure area. That will subside in typically less than an hour.

  • Also, the color will appear bold with usually minor swelling to the area. The swelling should dissipate within 24-48 hours on average.

  • By about the 3rd day, a thin scab will form. Do not pick/peel the scab; this could interfere with the color taking. Depending on your body, the scab will come off on its own in approximately five to seven days.

  • Expect some dry skin, making the procedure area seem a little ashy. This will all go away within a couple days. For brows and eyeliner the color will be apparent. For lips however, the color will initially appear paler or brighter after the scab first comes off. Then it will develop gradually (like a polaroid photograph) and slowly deepen to its true color in four to six weeks.

  • Lastly, we like to book a follow-up appointment with our clients to see them 8-12 weeks after the procedure to make sure the color and shape have healed perfectly. There is just a $50 set up fee should any small imperfection need to be fixed during this time; otherwise there is no charge for the follow-up appointment itself.
